The last few years have seen a huge jump in e-book use at the Prince George Public Library. Communications Coordinator Neil Godbout says last year they lent out close to 12,500 e-books, compared to just 3500 two years ago. He says during this time they've seen a slight decline in loans of physical books, but nowhere near equivalent to the rise of e-books. According to Godbout, one of the most surprising factors industry-wide, is the popularity of e-books among older readers. To keep up with the demand and the changing industry, the library has been growing their online collection, which they call their third branch. They also offer free classes to teach people how to use their e-books, and make the most of the resources available at the library.
